2001 Renault Megane 2.0 iDE Convertible. This car is for spares or repairs only. Can be driven away.
In really nice condition all round but very smokey on cold start up and has Air Bag light illuminated.Drives really well, smoke seems to clear after a mile or so. Long MOT to July 2022. Hood works fine.
Bought a few weeks ago on a bit of a whim, largely because I was bored, it was a warm night and I had one years ago. Engine was warm when I bought it and I later found that someone had taken the clocks out and put blu-tac over the Airbag light, presumably to get it through an MOT at some stage in its life.
Power steering got heavier as the drive went on at tickover but kicked back into action as soon as a few revs were applied
Drives really well though, pulls like a train and I'm told by my better half who was following me, that the smoke cleared after a mile or so of me picking it up. I drove it around 20 miles that night, haven't driven it since. In reality, there about ten cars in front of it on the to-do list so its up for grabs and you now know more about it than I did when I bought it,
I did clean it though, got about 20 years worth of dirt out of the cheap carpet and covered the scratches in the leather with some black leather balm. The seats are pretty good although the stitching has given way a little on the upper shoulders.
Best case scenario, valve stem oil seals, worst case, second hand engine.will drive away at your risk. I did and 20 miles were no problem but it is YOUR risk! (I'd do it though cos I'm wild and exciting).
No daft offers to take it away at scrap value or less, I'm very capable of doing that myself so I'll just ignore you or reply with a photograph of a caterpillar or an item of fruit, possibly a mango, I've not decided. It'd be a shame to scrap it, I think it has a future and apart from the outlined faults is one of the best I've seen for years.
Oh, There's a massive raft of bills and service history with the car too.
