Additional Info

Up for sale I have my 2001 Pontiac Trans Am, WS6, 6-speed
manual. Car is high end show quality and has been babied and garaged its whole
life. Never, Ever, abused in any way, not even one burnout. I only drive it once
in a while to give it some exercise and to car shows.  It has won two 1st place trophies and
three 2nd place trophies in the 4 ½ years I have owned it. I am the
second owner of the car. The original owner was a mature man that purchased it
at McNamara Pontiac dealership in Orlando Florida. He kept the car for 16 years
and also only drove it occasionally and to car shows. He eventually got tired of it
and wanted something else and I purchased it from him in May of 2017. I had
another Trans Am before this one and have been doing car shows for about 15
years now. But, I’m also getting up in age now (60) and have decided to let it
go. I honestly don’t drive it enough and I’m getting burned out on the car show
thing so that’s the only reason I’m selling it. I have only driven the car 500
miles since I purchased it. Car has been in Florida its whole life and has
never been driven in the rain except for previous owner told me he got caught
in a shower once on his way home from a show.

I’m a retired aircraft maintenance technician from the USAF
and also retired Boeing aircraft Field Service Representative. I have been
working on cars, motorcycles, boats and airplanes my whole life.

The car has just under 4500 original miles on it. It needs
nothing except a new home. Body and paint is 9.5 out of ten. It only has one
small spot of touchup paint on the lower part of the nose, underneath where a
front license plate would be. The paint got a small rub there once when pulling
into the garage and it contacted a plastic step-stool that was in the way and I
didn’t see it. It’s not really even that noticeable and no one at recent car
show noticed it either, not even the judges. If you zoom in on the picture of
front view you should be able to see it. Other than this, the paint is factory
original and mint condition. Windshield and other glass is 10/10. Interior is
also a 9.5 out of ten. Car has never been in an accident, has never been smoked
in, and has never been eaten in, nothing ever spilled in it. It even still has
nice new car & leather smell inside! Even the factory carpeted floor mats
are like new because they were always covered with rubber all weather mats. Clean
Carfax. Clear Florida title in my name and mileage shows actual mileage.
Everything works like new. A/C is Ice Cold.

Some features of the
car are as follows:

New Goodyear Eagle tires June 2019

New cooling system anti-freeze 2019

Factory manufacturing problem that induced 2 cracks on the plastic
door panels (one on each side) expertly and permanently repaired September 2019.
(They are still visible if you look close but hardly noticeable otherwise)

New rear axle / suspension bumper stops September 2019
(replaced due to originals becoming age deteriorated)

New wiper blades September 2019

New battery November 2020

Mobil One synthetic oil change / premium filter with 500
miles on it. (Only full synthetic oil since day one)

Rear woofer speakers replaced with new factory (upgraded
part #) Delco speakers June 2017

Monsoon sound system sounds great, like new!

Auxiliary input module for the radio installed behind dash
June 2017

There is an aux plug now near center console so you can plug
in your phone to listen to internet radio or similar.

New lift struts for the rear hatch 2017

New Carbon Fiber roof “sail panel” installed November 2020.

($1000 for the part alone) This repaired another factory induced
problem of bubbling paint on the original sail panels of mid 1998 – 2002
Pontiac Firebirds and Camaros over time.

The job of replacing the panel was done not only in
accordance with the factory Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 03-08-98-001), but
also with a very high degree of preparation and meticulousness. I can provide
additional pictures of the procedure upon request.

New braided stainless steel hose with enlarged orifice for
clutch hydraulic system. (This fixed the third factory problem of clutch pedal
“lagging” and not coming back up quickly enough). New clutch master cylinder
fluid & bled.

The car is 100% bone
stock with a few small exceptions as follows:

The interior dome light
and lights in the rearview mirror have been changed to LED bulbs. (They
don’t get hot like original type bulbs.)

Carbon Fiber roof sail
panel

Hurst shifter knob changed
to Hurst T-handle. I liked the look and feel of this handle much better
than the stock knob. However the stock leather shifter knob is still like
new and stored in the center console.

Skip-shift defeat
electrical connector installed in between wiring harness and transmission
plug. This defeat is plug-and-play and can easily be removed. (Eliminated
the annoying transmission skip-shift feature)

Hydraulic clutch steel
braided line with enlarged orifice. Provides proper and unrestricted flow
of fluid to, and return from, clutch slave cylinder. I have the original
unmodified line that goes with the car.

Car comes with the original factory car cover, the original
owner’s manuals, a binder with original sales receipt, maintenance receipts and
more, a 2001 Firebird dealership catalog, the original vanity license plate,
and the two original key fobs. Also included are the car show trophies if you
want them.

Values

#1
Concours     $33,400

Condition
#1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle,
in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly
clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and
chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used
are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is
"concours."

#2
Excellent      $23,000

#2
vehicles could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 vehicles
that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look
closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general
public. The paint, chrome, glass and finishes will all appear as excellent. No
excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from
the engine. The vehicle will drive as a new vehicle of its era would. The one
word description for #2 vehicles is "excellent."

#3 Good           $15,000

#3
vehicles could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 vehicle, but
they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new,
correct interior where applicable. #3 vehicles drive and run well, but might
have some incorrect parts. These vehicles are not used for daily transportation
but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not
find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3
vehicle.

 I feel that my asking
price is reasonable and is set at thousands below average retail. Most cars
like this on eBay and elsewhere, in this condition with fewer than 5000 miles,
are going for $35,000 and up. My car is just a tiny bit away from being a 100% “Concours” condition car due
to the couple of minor imperfections. If it were perfect, I would be asking
$33,400. Since it has these couple of small imperfections, I’m knocking off a
couple thousand. Even if you are able to find a completely stock Trans Am WS6 six-speed
manual like this one, it will still eventually have some imperfections due to
the factory manufacturing mistakes. The roof sail panel will eventually have bubbling
paint around the perimeter of the panel and they all do it to varying degrees.
Some T/A’s get it real bad if they haven’t been garaged. The door panels will
very likely have the cracks that they are so well known for as well. It will
also very likely have a “slow to release” clutch pedal. These issues are very common
to all 4th Generation Trans Am’s in the later years ’98 – ’02. All
three of those issues have already been addressed on this car!

I think I have it priced realistically and priced to sell!
It will surely go up in value as the years go by.  If you enter it into car shows, you will win…I
did. Check out the pics!

You would be hard pressed to find
a nicer early 2000’s Trans Am with these options. It’s about as perfect and
“like new” as you can get in a 20 year old WS6 Trans Am.

I have described the condition of the car to the best of my
ability. I always tell what flaws it has so there will be no surprises to the
buyer. I sold my last Trans Am here on eBay. Check out my 100 % feedback rating
and you can read the feedback comments left for me as a seller.

Again, the only reason I am selling this car is that I just
want to get out of car shows and I don’t drive it enough. That, plus it is
getting more difficult for me to maintain it. You could fly in and drive it home
anywhere in the country. I wouldn’t do that personally because of highway bugs and pebbles hitting it but it could easily be done. I would be willing to pick you up from either of our
local regional airports. I
trailered the car home from Orlando to N.W. Florida when I bought it. I would
also be willing to meet shipping company driver to help get it loaded into a
truck. Shipping arrangements will be the buyer’s responsibility.

I will
require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning the auction
via PayPal.

Payment
Types: Cash in person, Bank Cashier’s check, or bank funds transfer

If paying
by any type of check, the car, keys and title will be held until funds are
cleared and in my account.

I’m sure that I have left some things out and there is much
more I can tell about the car such as its history. If you have any questions at
all you can call me on my cell at [hidden information] or use eBay’s “contact the
buyer”. Happy bidding and good luck!
