You are looking at my UK registered
1984 G Wagen/Wagon. LHD
7 seat. 5 door Long wheel Base model.
3.0 Turbo diesel Automatic.
Originally a Swedish delivered car.
The car started life as a 280GE petrol, manual.
At some point a 3.0 OM617 engine and automatic transmission were fitted.
I have spent alot of money having the cars engine, electrical systems checked, diesel pump inspected and overhauled.
Car starts 1st time and idles perfectly.
Engages gear immediately and goes through the gears without any drama and driven short journeys but does not overheat, leak, rattle etc as it has been left to idle for extended periods of time during my ownership.
Car comes with a brand new set of 4 Continental Tyres ready to fit which were very expensive.
Good condition paintwork.
Things to do.
Replace vacuum pump as the engine has to be shut off manually under the bonnet using the lever.
Its not drawing any vacuum at present. About £150 for a rebuilt unit.
I would suspect replacing some vacuum lines to make sure everything is operational.
Rear wiper needs to be reconnected.
Door handle trims need replacement.
All lights work.
Seats need a clean and steam to rejuvenate the foam back to showroom condition. No rips or tears.
You do not need to replace the foam. Use a steam cleaner and watch it go back to as it was.
Car is not MOT'd but hasnt done any miles since last one a couple of years ago so assuming it will go through without issue. But I am no mechanic, Just a enthusiast for old cars and their simplicity.
Being a Swedish car.
Its been undersealed and is rust free from what I can see.
Ive owned a couple of Swedish cars in the past and they are without a doubt the best preserved cars you will find due to the harsh conditions but also the Swedes attitude to making sure their cars are properly undersealed and protected from the elements.
Car is always garaged so not exposed to the elelments and deterioration.
Change of direction means I have reluctantly decided to sell it.
Depending on your plans.
You could continue using as it is.
Export it before Brexit comes into force and subject to possible duties in Europe.
Re install a 280 Twin cam engine and manual transmission so it is factory correct.
The older G wagens command anything upto 25,000 euro if the W463 fenders were removed and taken back to the standard period correct appearance which are all bolt on items.
ELECTRIC CONVERSION would be fantastic due to its sheer size and ability to fit batteries and EV motor.
It would be the coolest EV on the road.
This is a reluctant sale but someone will have a iconic classic car whatever your plans are for it.
Car is in the Bedford area and can be viewed and driven by prior appointment.
Payment is bank transfer only.
I could be interested in a possible PX or swap for another classic or modern car within eBay rules.
If you let me know what you have and honest description.
We can go from there.
Please call [hidden information].
Please be advised.
Bank transfer only.
Cash, if paid into the local branch with myself present and ID, Driving licence for their requirements.
Only then. Will the paperwork be done online via DVLA website and car released.
