1979 Volkswagen Rabbit 2 door no sunroof diesel 4 speed. The car runs and drives around the block. Car should not be driven home as it needs new tires. It does start run and stop just fine. The last time it was on the road was about 15 years ago.
The body has the best pantia I have seen on a rabbit in a long time....and I have owned A LOT of them. It has been painted blue at least three times in it's life. All the versions of blue were fairly close to original but never a dead match which gives it the killer look. A lot of spots are down to bare metal now but the car is super solid. Not trying to hide anything I know where all the rust is on these typically. Towers are perfect. A arms are great. Floor pans are about 90% straight and have no rust. Pinch welds looks great and are NOT all folded and beat to @#$%. The front bumper is included as well as the lower valance grills. I do not have a set of round headlight buckets, but they are fairly easy to find.
When I purchased it the driver window was rolled down about an inch so the carpet has been wet at times over the years and the bottom of the seat where it meets the floor has some pretty good rust on it, but nothing has rusted through so the body seems intact. Car was found in Amarillo TX and it's very very dry there.
Motor started fairly easy after a little bit of work and replacing some hoses. It has almost a full tank of diesel so it smokes a bit but runs clean after start up. I have some additives in the diesel to help clear it out. But again it starts and runs easy.
Interior is original and intact. Headliner is nearly perfect. Dash is cracked as always. Lights on the dash do work and so does the radio. Door cards are pretty clean. Seats are well worn and faded but I scrubbed them real good and they have no holes or tears in them.
Title, the guy I bought it from was 94 years old and lost all the paperwork from all the VWs I bought from him. If the car sells for over $1200 I will file for the title myself and send it your way with plates. Also if the car does not sell for over $1200 it does not come with a battery, the one I have is new. If it does not go for a good price the title will be the responsibility of the new owner. It is very very easy to get. It costs $134 to have a clean title show up in your name in whatever state you live in I have already filled out the paperwork, it simply needs to be mailed in and takes 2 weeks. You can google "vermont lost title" and see that it's crazy simple. The car is located in Denver Colorado but Vermont does replacement titles for any older car in the country for a small fee...it's a real thing either you get it or you don't. 100's of people do it every day for older cars.
$500 through paypal within 24 hours. The balance needs to be in a cashiers check or you can pay cash if your coming to get it. Delivery is possible depending on how close you are to Denver. It won't be free but it's cheaper than standard transport.
