This is a 1971 Lc Torana Short nose Coupe. Its been modified as a race car last used for a mud bash by the Rovers (Scouts) in 2012.
Dont even think about getting this car back on the road! There is one factory tag, I cant find the chassis number.
I was going to use it as an auto cross car which wouldn't take too much work to achieve just needs a lot of tiding up. Sorry about the photos. Not much light in the shed.
Its got a L20 2.0l Datsun engine. Not sure about the gear box i would assume its Datsun too.
It was obviously used as a fun race car so it would take some doing to make it into a track car but 100% doable. They had taken the outer skin of the door and welded a bar across and bogged the door jam the top of the door folds up. Wacky. There isnt really any rust but there are rust "repairs" Just patches and not done professionally. Its been cut here and there. The engine is mounted on a custom frame, just some box steel. They have put a lot of work in to make it a race car. Grill is gone, radiator is there in its place and bull bar.
I haven't worked on it or tried to start it but it was running when parked by the previous owners. Been siting for some years now. Wouldn't take a lot to get running and use as a speedway car or auto cross. Its got a Cage. Would take a lot to tidy it up enough to be a tidy track car.
I've described it as best I could. Just know it is rough but its solid and body/chassis isn't that bad. Engine and gearbox would be worth $1000 on there own.
Its located in Wesburn , 3799 Vic. Will have to be towed, I know a good tow truck driver. Would likely be $200-350 depending on where you are in Melb.
I do have a lot more Photos that were taken in the day time. If you serious about buying the car let me know and I can dropbox them to you.
IF you have any questions please let me know.
