1965 Corvair Corsa convertible. Real #10767 Corsa 140, not a clone or tribute. Solid driver, BUT this is a driver quality car. It looks better in the photos or about 10 feet away. Starts and runs always, but could use a paint job and a new top. I didn't do either because it's in the garage most of the time.
There is a scrape on the hood center ridge where the garage door came down on it (not dented). Couple of spots where paint is coming off. Good cruiser car, but not show quality. Driver quality. If you are familiar with Corvair Ranch in Gettysburg, Jeff just put in a new clutch and a bit of other maintenance work.. Engine overhauled about 8 years ago by Jeff, with very few miles on it.. Doesn't burn oil or smoke. Primaries and secondaries work as they should.
Has the telescoping wheel, and that's not the stock steering wheel, but one out of a Corvette. I prefer it because it's a smaller diameter. If you want a solid car to restore, it's a good candidate. If you want a nice looking driver quality, it's good as is. I've owned it maybe 15 years, but I'm getting older and so is the car, and it doesn't get used much anymore. I haven't put 100 miles on it in the last three years. I tried to show that the top is solid but old. There is a loose front edge, and wear inside on the padding. Window is clear because I usually put the top down at the beginning of summer and leave it down all summer.
Only immediate issue is the passenger door needs to have the opening mechanism worked on. It opens fine, but you need to push the button pretty deep to get it open. Other than that I think everything works as it should, but it is 55 years old so they always need a little bit of care.
Changes from stock: Clarks quick steering arms and Buick aluminum finned braked drums on front.
I reserve the right to end the auction if a local buyer comes through.
