Additional Info

I love seeing cars like these be pulled out of the corners of buildings tucked in behind a 20 ton bulldozer. Indoors, under a cover is where its been for the last 40 yrs. Getting it out was no small task but when it was the owner said ''put some juice to her n give it a shot n ill be she fires right up'' as tempting as it was that is NOT what we did. Although after we changed the oil, pulled the plugs, drained the old gas, shot some penetrating oil in the cylinders and turned it over by hand real slow a few times. we put a good battery in it, shot some ether down the old 2 barrel and on the 2nd rotation she was alive again. Alive yes but not moving nowhere. Not until all the brakes and break lines were replaced and everything else given a ''once over'' did we feel it would be safe to take it out and it did not let us down. For almost 3 hours we cruz'd town, the back roads even jumping on the highway for a couple miles getting to 80mph n staying there without a problem. The old 2 speed is gonna need to be looked at because it wasnt until after it warmed up, about 20 min did it finally decide to shift into 2nd but after it warmed up every time we stopped and took off again, shifted just fine, maybe just a tad bit late but for a car that just sat for 40yrs and had nothing replaced I was amazed. My transmission guy said the trans is fine but could just use a ''Freshenin' up''
Now, We dont know much more about the car than the current owner does besides the obvious. First thing being, black is not the original color. Ill get the codes soon and update but you can see the blueish/green peeking out from behind the rear lights, door jams and trunk seam. Secondly...its had some minor body work done in the quarters. you can see in the pictures what was along time ago a very good body filler repair job. its not bad at all and I believe the repair that was done 40+ years ago just needs to be re-done and with the advancements in body fillers and techniques the results will look as if nothing was ever done. Like I said the damage that was repaired was nothing significant probably just a fender bender in a parking lot so its not like the body filler that is here, is here to hide what should have been a panel replacement. Its just a couple minor repairs done to a daily driver along time ago. The chrome strip that runs up the middle of the truck is half gone. Its not a hard piece to find and how much depends on if you want OEM or Re-pop. Chrome around the RH outter headlight has had a amateur repair. Also not impossible to find. The trunk lid will need some attention. The trunk floor is solid but will need to be blasted and re-sealed. Original spare tire & jack are still there. One of the 14'' hub caps is missing its ''Bow tie'' center cap. The radio antenna is broken off, its in the trunk and im sure can be repaired and replaced. The headliner has separated at the seams but is all there and free of holes or tares. All the seats having been covered as in one of the pictures and are in great condition. This car is a prime candidate for which ever direction you choose to take it. Whether you want a example of a completely original '64 as it was in '64 or a Un-restored daily driver ''Barn find'' with a suspension upgrade, disc breaks and bigger wheels & tires mostly just for the safety of it. Your options are endless but whichever 1964 Impala you see when you close your eyes, getting there requires a solid, complete, original platform and those are not re-popped nor do they show up for sale very often and most of the time when they do they have already been ''Customized'' more than once, were done nicely but done in someone else's vision or has been in a bubble its entire life and the asking price looks more like a phone number than a price tag. Well Good luck and feel free to ask any questions about the car and I'll do my best to get you the answer.
P.S. I was only allowed so many pictures and Im sure if your bidding you want more and maybe a video too. Just click the linkhttps://www.facebook.com/rl.greenwood.7/ and send me a message letting me know you are a bidder and what more you would like to know and/or see. also please note that upon winning the auction a immediate deposit of $1,000 is due via PayPal at the e-mail address provided. The remainder of the balance is due within 3 business days when possession of the 1964 Impala is taken. This transaction will only take place at either My place of business or the Lowell (MI) Police department. Again, Thanks & Good Luck, Woody
