1963 Porsche 356 Chassis Number [hidden information]Engine Number [hidden information]
Here we have a car that is begging to be driven. This B Coupe was in the same family for decades and was driven coast to coast, first by the father, then by the son. Currently in silver paint this car originally left Max Hoffman's dealership in Slate Gray (Color code 6201) with red interior. The interior is still red and the dash is still slate so you can see how well the color combo worked. The engine in the car is a Super engine but the original engine is also included, it turns over by hand but no attempt has been made to run it. When this car originally left Hoffman's it didn't go far, the original owner lived a mere 20 blocks north on E 74th St on the Upper East Side of New York City, so it was probably a short first drive. We found the car in a garage in Ohio. The last owner recently died but was using the car up until last year, it still has current tags until 2022! The original toolkit is also included, please see the pics. The car is what I would consider the perfect driver, the paint is ok but presentable and the motor is not the original so there is no fear in driving this car. Please watch the video we took of it driving around.
If this was my car I would drive it for the next 5-10 years, enjoy it and then restore it to it's former glory with the original paint color and put the original motor back in. The last owner enjoyed the highways with it, the car still has a working CB radio for long car trips. You can see the badges from him travels on the decklid. The widow I recently bought it from said she hoped someone would enjoy driving it as much as her husband did and his father before him. It's a driver so you aren't going to be winning any concours in it, please look at all the pictures to see the overall condition of the car. But you can have a lot of fun doing what the car was made to do. Don't miss out!
