This is a 1960 Thunderbird Coupe, Arizona car bought from the estate of a local, 85 year old doctor and car collector. He bought cars that he really liked and kept them, when he passed away he had 18 old cars, this Thunderbird being one of them.
The body is very good, only rust is in the outer rocker panels on both sides, typical on 1958-60 Thunderbird cars. The car has an old repaint, probably 10-20 years ago in original color and the paint job is not very good. Excellent doors, fenders, floor, trunk floor, rust free underneath. The black interior is nice, new carpet and headliner as far I can tell, smaller cracks in the dash pad.The engine compartment is reasonable nice, not oily or dirty but also not restored, the trunk is really nice and the spare tire and also the original jack is still there. It looks like the radiator is pretty new.
The potmetal chrome is also excellent inside and out, pit free and very nice.
The car starts and runs fine, shifts as it should and with good brakes (rebuilt brakes inc the master cylinder), good tires, good to excellent exhaust. New generator, starter relay and starter motor. Most everything electric works also, one turnsignal is out but the car has running lights, brake lights etc.
The only thing I know missing is a small panel on the dash, just above the A/C controls, should be very easy to find and if I remember to I will get one. And the trunk lock cylinder has been removed. The chrome emblem on the deck lid is sitting inside the trunk, I think it was removed by the relatives of the doctor because they could not find the key for the trunk lock.
The car has most but not all options available on a 1960 Thunderbird:352 Thunderbird Special enginePower steeringPower brakesPower windowsPower seatFactory ACTinted glassOptional hubcaps
The power windows work, the power seat also work but the switch needs rebuild or replaced. We put power on the seat motor and it moves in all directions. We still have not tried the A/C but I guess it does not work, it rarely does on old cars but it is 100% complete.
The car is at my restoration shop in down town Phoenix Arizona where it can be seen and inspected anytime 8 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday.
We have sold and exported old cars since 1986 and export to most any place on the globe is never a problem. And we can usually help arranging transport to most parts on the US.
